Lead Scoring (Intent Scores)

Every lead gets an intent score from 1-10. This tells you how likely that person is to actually buy something.

How Intent Scoring Works

StackLead's AI analyzes each post and looks for signals like:

  • Explicit buying language — "looking to buy," "need recommendations," "what's the best"
  • Problem urgency — "frustrated with," "need this ASAP," "been searching for weeks"
  • Budget mentions — "willing to pay," "what does it cost," "budget of"
  • Comparison shopping — "X vs Y," "alternative to," "switching from"
  • Decision timeline — "starting next month," "need by Friday"

What the Scores Mean

| Score | Meaning | Action | |-------|---------|--------| | 9-10 | Ready to buy NOW | Drop everything and reply | | 7-8 | High intent, actively looking | Reply within hours | | 5-6 | Interested but early stage | Worth a helpful reply | | 3-4 | Casual interest | Lower priority | | 1-2 | Just browsing/discussing | Skip unless very relevant |

Score Breakdown

9-10: Hot Leads

These people are literally asking for product recommendations or ready to make a purchase decision.

Examples:

  • "Can anyone recommend a good CRM for small teams?"
  • "Looking to buy a social media scheduler, budget around $50/month"
  • "Need to choose between X and Y by Friday"

Action: Reply immediately. These leads go cold fast.

7-8: High Intent

Actively researching solutions. Not quite ready to buy, but close.

Examples:

  • "What do you all use for project management?"
  • "Thinking about switching from Competitor to something else"
  • "How do you handle [problem your product solves]?"

Action: Reply within a few hours. Provide helpful info + soft mention.

5-6: Medium Intent

Interested in the space but early in their journey.

Examples:

  • "Has anyone tried tools for X?"
  • "Curious what solutions exist for Y"
  • "Exploring options for Z"

Action: Worth a reply if you have time. Focus on being helpful.

3-4: Low Intent

Casual discussion, not actively looking for solutions.

Examples:

  • "What do you think about the X industry?"
  • "Interesting article about Y"
  • "Just learned about Z concept"

Action: Skip unless the conversation is highly relevant.

1-2: No Intent

General discussion with no buying signals.

Action: Skip these.

Why This Matters

Not all leads are equal. A score of 9 means someone is literally asking for product recommendations. A score of 3 means they're just chatting about the industry.

Focus your energy on high-intent leads first. They convert better and faster.

Viewing Intent Reasoning

Click on any lead to expand it. You'll see "Why this lead scored X" — the AI's reasoning for the score.

This helps you understand:

  • What signals triggered the score
  • Whether the lead is actually relevant to you
  • How to tailor your reply

Tips for Working with Scores

  • Trust the 9-10s — These are almost always worth your time
  • Investigate 7-8s — Read the full post before deciding
  • Be selective with 5-6s — Only reply if highly relevant
  • Batch process low scores — Quick scan, dismiss most
